What elderly services are provided by Pulaski County Human Services, Inc.?

We provide services to the disabled and elderly to assist them with maintaining independence in the community. Eligibility for some services is based on case manager assessment and enrollment.

They are as follows:

  • In-Home Services Program (Homemaking)
  • Nutrition (Home Delivered and Senior Center Site Meals)
  • Von Tobel Center: 115 W. Pearl St. Winamac 574-946-6049
  • West Side Center: 125 E. Railroad St. Medaryville 219-843-5600
  • Preventative Health Care (medical screenings, health fair, nutritional and health information materials and presenters at senior centers on a variety of topics)
  • Community Services (food pantry, energy assistance, weatherization, housing, trustee linkage)
  • Senior Employment (training agency for Experience Works)
  • Outreach (seeking out elderly to provide or educate them on our services)
  • Assistance Information and Referral Services (provision of information regarding services and linkage to other agencies/providers)
  • Transportation (provided by our Arrowhead Country Public Transit Service) for personal, social service, business, medical or other purposes in and out of the county 946-6500 or toll free 1-877-946-4211
  • Volunteer Inkind Program (opportunities for volunteers at the office, centers, food pantry, meal delivery, and linkage with other agencies seeking volunteers)

Services for these programs are provided in Pulaski County through partnership with Northwest Indiana Community Action Agency and are funded in part with Title III of the Older Americans Act, Pulaski County Commissioners, Town of Winamac, Town of Medaryville, Pulaski County United Fund, Pulaski County Community Foundation, Customer contributions and community donations.
